Prayer of Today

Jeffrey

Thought for today

One of the beautiful Psalms in the Bible is Psalms 139, to quote parts of it:

O LORD, you have searched me
       and you know me.
 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

While thinking about these things, David exclaims in verse 6 “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.” No matter where we go, what we do or say, God is there, watching, knowing. He doesn’t do this because He is trying to catch us out, so He can punish us, but because He has a deep love and interest in each one of us, individually. God cares about us and wants to look after us. As soon as we call for help He hears. He has been waiting for us to acknowledge His presence and our need of His help.

You are never alone to struggle through life’s trials. God is with you, thinking about you, waiting to help when you finally realise you cannot make it through life on your own and you need His Almighty help. Just call out to Him. He knows where you are, what you are doing and what is happening in your life. And He cares, more than anyone else ever can.

Prayer for today

Lord in you we find such a great God, your willing death on a wooden cross, why you would do this is a mystery…. It became a payment for my sin. This touches my heart. I bow before you and worship You right now. Walk with me today is my prayer. Amen.

Yesterday Prayer
You’re Engraved on Gods Palm

We may not always understand
The things which come our way
But we can rest content
In the knowledge that, each day,
God’s loving hand’s extended
To grant us peace and hope
To strengthen and encourage
When we feel we cannot cope.

He is the Lord our healer
He is the Lord who is ever near
He is the Lord who sees our tears
And hears our every prayer
His hand is now upon you
You are engraved upon his palm
Let his presence now enfold you
And let your troubled heart be calm

I pray that God will touch you
In a very special way
Bringing healing to your body
Increasing strength from day to day
May your heart rejoice in knowing
That you’re in His tender care
That he is right there with you
And will your burdens bear

This is my prayer for today

Thought for today:For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that who ever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.John3v16. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. John3v17.

Last time I wrote I spoke of this text being joined to verse 16. How often we hear people fearful of a God who wants to condemn them, full of judgement, a cruel exacting God. People who feel this way often curse God. There is an evil one who would love us to think of God this way. That is his purpose. His core objective. But NOT ONLY did the Father and Son plan to come and redeem [save] us, but they wanted a relationship with ME,  to win me back. Jesus wanted to reassure us God did not send his son… to condemn the world. Their plan as Gods was… not to condemn us. We are the ones that have to contend with badness and evil, and God want to be a strong arm for us. With evil the Bible says elsewhere the battle is NOT yours but Gods.  We are to give the battle to Him. The last part of the text, to me, is the most powerful. Through him [we] might be saved….His goodness, His purity, His Godly life saves ME. Because His inherit Godliness covers me, I can hide within that and be safe. He did NOT come to condemn us but to save us. That’s why I love this text so much.

Dear Lord we I come to you today, I am thankful of your love for me, Love that I do not understand, Thank you for your life of goodness, your purpose to  save ME. Thank you. In Jesus name I pray Amen

Thought for today: For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that who ever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John3v16

This is probably the most well known verse in the Bible. It should ALWAYS be linked to the next verse v17. This I will discuss next time.  Here is the wonder of it all. The text says for God so loved the world here we see the Father surrendering HIS SON to our planet and its peoples, for God  so loved…ie like a parent  who gives a kidney to save a child’s life, it was a considered, conscious, decision on God part.

The Son was born to die… It is more than the baby in the manger - Christmas story. It was to end in a public crucifixion and death on a cross. That was the plan.  A planned birth and death devised in heaven. And because it was planned, every day was mapped out. Every healing; all the conflicts considered in detail. All this done so that we might not perish from the power of Satan with HIS own law of sin and death, what a miserable soul!!.Jesus intervention would give you and ME,everlasting life. The way God had intended it at creation week. This was the plan of the Christmas story, it included the Easter story also, – to give us life everlasting.

In our busy lives we often just go,go,go. And if we work and have family be it children or grandchildren, time for us (ourselves) seems hard to find. Faster and faster, busier and busier, we sometimes forget how to slow down because were so focused on the task in front of us… it is then that I recalled Jeremiah 31:25 “I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”

I find myself remembering that Jesus Himself was weary at times and needed time to rest.   Often when weary and thirsting for human fellowship He would escape to the peaceful household of Lazarus.  Here He found a warm welcome, true friendship, and interested listeners.

Understanding that even Jesus experienced tiredness, we can turn it over to Him.  Jesus invites us to make Him our strength, our support, our rock in a fatigued land.

Sometimes we need to stop and invite Gods presence into our lives. Jesus said “my peace I give unto you”…pass our worries and stresses over to Him. If we need a break  bring it to  Him, ask Him to provide one. For the promise is I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”  Jeremiah 31:25

Prayer. Today Father I come to you trusting in you, like a small child who trusts its parents. Your word says your heart is full of love for us, speak and reveal yourself to me today. May I know you more. Thank you . In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Thought for today: He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble. Psalms 91v5.
Whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10v13.

Today I have linked 2 texts together. I have spoken many times about God wanting to talk with us and be part of our lives. The Bible says it over and over again. Call on me and I WILL come to you. When I come, I will not force, I will not push in I will simply be there. God encourages this calling upon Him. If [he]shall call upon me [God], and I will answer him is the reoccurring echo…sounding out from its pages.
Our lives are bound in relationships with each other. Our partners, our parents our children. We often want a higher power to call upon. Coming to the  manufacturer is a good place to go. The Creator.  God.  Doing this will bring a peace in our lives. It fills the ‘God space’ in us. When God comes He brings His peace.  What we often miss most is peace in our busy lives. Centered lives.

Prayer:Our Father in heaven, today I come before you grateful that you are my God. Help me to be still before you, so you can speak, instruct and counsel me, teach me to wait patiently upon you and not to fret so. Walk beside me today. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Thought for today:Be still and know that I am God Ps 46v10 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently upon Him, do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Ps 37v7

How often in my life I have needed this advice. The reality is we are not always willing to wait patiently upon Him, to bring our worries before our creator, and ask Him to intervene for us. There are some things that obviously we must do, but it is the vexing problems, the issues, that God invite us to bring to Him, He saysbe still…. and know that I am God…. wait patiently…. do not fret. God say’s “If you would just ask me, and be still, I will take care of the situation, then you will know that I am God.”God is here for us let us spend time in His presence.

Prayer  Lord in your heavens there is abundant life, for you are there. Refresh me today, for our lives are hid in you, we claim this promise “my peace I give unto you” restore and refresh me this day. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Prayer
Dear God often my trouble bring me back to You, more so, it seems than my joys. Your promise for us today is to 'call upon you' ...that you will look out for us, and 'I will deliver you'. Who else can I turn to with such assurance?   Often I need wisdom in my life, bless me with that today, also wisdom to share kindness and love to others. And help me wise about the things of God. In your holy name we pray. Amen

A Bible promise Call upon me in the day of trouble, and I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. Psalms 50v15

Dear Lord, Thank you so much that You have hear  my prayers and that you are right now here with me. There is nothing that You don't know about me so I don't need to be afraid to tell you all about my problem.  Give me Your peace instead of anxiety. Give me that sense that there is nothing that can happen to me today that You have not made provision for. May my focus not be on my problem but on You and Your power and might to handle my concerns. Let me rest in You as a tired child relaxes in its mother's arms. I am safe. All is calm. Thank You dearest friend. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen

Patsy Clairmont writes: "Jason, our youngest, has two goals in life. One is to have fun; the other is to rest. And he does both quite well. So I shouldn't have been surprised about what happened when I sent him to school one autumn day. As Jason headed off for the bus I busied myself, preparing for a full day. The knock on the door was a surprise, and disruptive to my morning rhythm, which is not something I have a lot of. I flew to the door, jerked it open, only to find myself looking at Jason. 'What are you doing here?' I demanded. 'I've quit school,' he announced. 'Quit school?' I repeated in disbelief and at a decibel too high for human ears, swallowing once, and trying to remember some motherly psychology. But all that came to my mind was 'a stitch in time saves nine' and 'starve a fever, feed a cold,' or something like that. Somehow they didn't seem to apply to a six-year-old dropout dilemma. So I questioned 'Why have you quit school?' Without hesitation he proclaimed, 'It's too long, it's too hard, and it's too boring!' 'Jason,' I instantly retorted, 'you have just described life. Get on the bus!'"
When it comes to the Christian life, God promises no bed of roses on the battlefield and no carpet on the racetrack; just a checkerboard of adversity and advancement! His Word says, "Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain." So the word for you today is - get on the bus!

Prayer: Dear Lord, we can come to you as we are, thankfully you accept us. Meet me Lord, and  into my life bring your presence. Work in my life, and may that I be STRONG in you. Develop me Lord into the person that you see in me, I pray in your name. Amen

I want to share a song with you today for my prayer. God has designed that there is a place in all of us for Him. We can talk with Him at any time or in any place.. This song is titled  "In the Presence of Jehovah" I hope you enjoy it.

I thought to day I would share a beautiful song I hope that you enjoy it
